San Ramon offers a unique combination of established neighborhoods and new growth. Many of the city’s neighborhoods allow for easy access to the freeway and public transportation.
San Ramon public schools, part of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, are known for their strong academics and consistently rank well within the state of California. Dougherty Valley High School is one of the top 100 high schools in California, as ranked by U.S. News and World (2017).
With more than 50 parks and recreational spaces, San Ramon pleases outdoor enthusiasts, families and dog lovers alike. Residents may also enjoy the performing arts scene, with regular musical performances and entertainment at Dougherty Valley Performing Arts and Front Row Theaters.
More than 600 of San Ramon’s businesses are housed in Bishop Ranch, a premier business park that provides a host of events and amenities to tenants and the community. Some highlights include San Ramon Farmers’ Market, food trucks, holiday tree lighting, Holi celebration, movie nights, daycare facilities and conference centers. Additionally, Bishop Ranch has broken ground on the City Center, an evolving suburban shopping center that, once completed, may well serve as San Ramon’s downtown.
