It is home to the oldest wine region in California, founded by William Mendenhall and named after Robert Livermore. Currently, 45 wineries call Livermore home. Many are small family-owned or historic wineries offering award-winning wines and genuine hospitality.
The historic downtown has been recently revitalized and includes a 10-screen cinema, performing arts center, pedestrian-oriented streets, and residential live/workspaces. It is a vibrant shopping, dining, and entertainment district.
