Lafayette has a bustling and vibrant downtown area along Mount Diablo Boulevard with a variety of restaurants, shops, and upscale boutiques. Residents enjoy top rated schools, small town downtown, clean air, mild climate and oak tree-studded hills. During the summer be sure to visit the Lafayette Art and Wine festival to stroll through the streets and admire the artwork and crafts.
 
Driving through Lafayette on Highway 24, you’ll notice the Cross of Lafayette Memorial to commemorate the American soldiers who died in the ongoing Iraqi war. There are approximately 6,000 white crosses on a hill overlooking the Lafayette BART station.
