Summer is fast approaching and farmers markets are a great way to enjoy fresh local fruits and vegetables, and support local businesses at the same time! Here is a snapshot of local farmers markets in our area. Let us know which ones are your favorites!
Thursdays
The seasonal Dublin Farmers' Market is Thursdays, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., through the end of September, rain or shine. Come out to find your farmers' market favorites, such as locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, honey, nuts, pasta, and more. Pick up some delicious hot foods from vendors for dinner each week.
Livermore Carnegie Park, Livermore
Visit small & micro farmers with a direct outlet where they sell the fruits, vegetables, eggs, honey, flowers, arts, crafts, and all other things that they themselves produce. Local consumers have an opportunity to buy farm fresh local and organic products at reasonable prices directly from producers. Enjoy a festive gathering place to celebrate local food and farms; and support local sustainable agriculture.
Saturdays
At Railroad & Prospect Aves, Danville
The Farmers’ Market is open Saturdays year-round, rain or shine, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Railroad Avenue Municipal Parking Lot, located at the corner of Railroad and Prospect Avenues.
The old world ambiance of the Orinda Village lends a unique charm to the Orinda Farmers’ Market located on Orinda Way in front of Rite Aid and the Community Park.
West Angela & Main Street, Pleasanton
This month you'll find loads of leafy greens, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, kale, green onions and more. There's also local honey, jams, olive oil, handcrafted cheeses, fresh cut flowers, and even handmade soaps!
City Center Bishop Ranch, San Ramon
Check out the chef demos at this great market! Impress your guests with your new found culinary skills. Home cooks and local chefs like Chef Dong Choi of Slanted Door will share farm to table recipes with ingredients from the market!
Shadelands Complex, Walnut Creek
Voted Walnut Creek’s favorite farmers’ market by Walnut Creek magazine this beautiful setting in Shadelands Business Park has a gourmet ambiance. Farmers bring their best from the nearby Brentwood farming areas. The Kid’s Craft Corner makes this market a family-friendly experience on Saturdays, 9am to 1pm.
Sundays
Alamo Plaza, Alamo
The quintessential small-town farmers’ market experience awaits you in Alamo, open every Sunday from 9am to 2pm.
Second Street @ J & K, Livermore
Our market foragers are always on the lookout to bring latest local flavors to the market. Whether it’s new and exciting local growers or artisan food crafters, our foragers are on the hunt!
Moraga Rd & Moraga Way, Moraga
Over 40 local California farmers and gourmet food purveyors arrive every Sunday, 9am to 1pm to serve the communities of Moraga, Lafayette and Orinda. Fun events like the Halloween Harvest Festival, Costume Parade, the Grape Escape and the Easter Egg Hunt help connect children of market goers to the farmers.
